Steve Mandy, MD
Dr. Stephen Mandy is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, a founding member and past president of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Medical Association.
After two years as a Major in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Mandy entered private practice in 1973. In 1975, Dr. Mandy began a veterinary dermatological pharmaceutical company, DVM, which was later sold to Ivax in 1992. Dr. Mandy became a volunteer clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Miami in 1984 and continues to teach there today. He also spent time in Aspen, Colorado, where he was the city’s only dermatologist from 1991 to 2002. Currently, Dr. Mandy is in private practice in Miami Beach where he specializes in photorejuvenation, leg veins and vascular lesions, dermabrasion, injectables and skin cancer detection and treatment.
Dr. Mandy’s studies have been published in numerous textbooks and journals, including Dermatology Digest, Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Journal of Dermatology and Allergy. Dr. Mandy frequently lectures at medical societie’s meetings and, in addition, has appeared on both national and local television and been quoted in numerous publications, including Newsweek, USA Today, Dermatology Times and the Washington Post.
Dr. Mandy received his undergraduate and medical degrees from George Washington University and completed his dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins. He completed his dermatologic training at the University of Miami.
