Bob Binder, PhD
Dr. Bob Binder is a Principal Research Scientist working with P&G Beauty in the Global Biotechnology Division. Dr. Binder is part of a team applying genomics methods to problems in skin and hair biology. His research has focused on skin aging, carcinogenesis and cell biology. Dr. Binder is also working on methods to more effectively apply genomics data in technology development.
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Binder has participated in many committees and organizations. Most notably, he is a member of the Society of Investigative Dermatology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
Dr. Binder has co-authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters on a range of topics, including the early development of chemically-induced skin tumors to photocarcinogensis in human adult skin grafts, which have been published in journals such as Molecular Carcinogenesis and Cancer Research. He has also been invited to review manuscripts for journals such as Carcinogenesis, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Mutation Research, Physiological Genomics, and Toxicological Sciences, and to present his research at international meetings.
Dr. Binder completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained his Ph.D. in a joint program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Binder was a NIH postdoctoral trainee at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Binder has been working with P&G Beauty for more than 24 years.
